The Website :

Big Builders Bum is a secure online market place where people can quickly connect with the best tradesmen in their local area to help them with their home improvement jobs. After the completion of each job we ask for an unbiased, fair review on reliability, quality and value of the Tradesperson.

This review system helps other site users to make informed choices and it also enables the tradesmen to build their reputation.

The site was originally founded in April 2010 by Paul Cherry (former Professional Footballer) and his wife Nicola Cherry (former WAG!) A year later they joined forces with a highly regarded web development team headed by Warren Boswell (programmer & SEO wizard) and Leona Graham (director of delicious design).

The outcome – An honest fun website dedicated to providing an outstanding service.

So who are we ?

Paul Cherry :

Paul as we said is a former professional footballer from Hearts, St Johnstone and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Throughout his career he was renowned for his robust style of play, a style which he also used in his approach to DIY jobs. For that reason it was Paul who came up with the idea of Big Builders Bum. As sourcing a good tradesmen to do the job always seemed to be the safer option !

What Paul lacks in home improvement skills however, he makes up for with his fantastic sense of humour - we hold him completely responsible for the poise of our Mascot and logo “Billy Builder” at the top left of the page!

Nicola Cherry :

Nicola is actually the one who came up with the name “Big Builders Bum” (we still hold Paul responsible for the logo however). Having started her career in an accountant’s office Nicola, originally from Fife, has kept an interest in record keeping and is responsible for all the legal administration of the company. She now happily juggles her time between the business and looking after their gorgeous young grandson who she aims to train up as soon as he can count!!

Warren Boswell :

Warren (or Woz – as in wizard of !) is a programming genius driven by a thirst for integrating complex functionality with simple user interfaces. In plain English, that’s making complicated websites secure and very easy to use! Born in Widnes, Cheshire – we are pretty sure Warren’s first words were - “Bring me a Computer”

There are no set working hours for Warren, getting him off his computer has always proved to be the challenge! At any time of the day or night he can be found with his nose stuck in cutting edge programming or search engine promotion research! He is without doubt A True Techie !!!!

Leona Graham :

Leona just loves being on the leading edge online, she has a passion for creating fun, forward thinking, honest, user oriented design. When she is not playing around with photoshop (her favourite design programme) she enjoys a bit of writing, most of the site’s text springs directly from her own keyboard. Leona is also from Fife, and her dulcet Scottish tones can be heard over the phone should we find the need to contact you directly.
