Qualifications and additional skills
We are members of Gas Safe Register, NICEIC (for electrical works), MCS and REAL (for solar and microgeneration works), TrustMark (the Government-endorsed approved tradesmen scheme), Heating & Ventilation Contractor's Association, Safe Contractor, and are ISO9001 (quality systems) and 14001 (environmental systems) approved.
We are also approved by numerous local authorities to carry out works on their behalf, including all 12 of the south London boroughs, Islington, Dartford, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Surrey County Council.
Work history and experience
The company was founded in November 1966 by the present managing director Mr Roger Lambert, engaging in installation and gas servicing and maintenance.
During the 1970s and 1980s the company developed into a multi-million pound operation and was one of the major leading players in the package improvements schemes tendered by The Greater London Council and other London Boroughs.
During these years the company worked closely with The Greater London Council to formulate and introduce Original Codes of Conduct for Operatives and the Tenants Charter.
During 1980 Montrose Building Services Ltd was formed as a specialist building services division to carry out High Class Heating Installations and Gas Service and Maintenance for Social Landlords within a larger organisation.
In 1998 the group of companies were sold with the exception of Montrose Building Services Ltd which developed under the managing director which carries out electrical and gas contracts for both social housing and the private sector.
The development of Montrose Building Services Limited has resulted in a management team being fully trained to undertake the current requirements of its work load. Office Management structure and the latest IT facilities enable the company to monitor and control contracts at all levels.
Directly employed field operatives allow for a fully trained workforce able to perform to the high standards expected in the work place. All operatives are qualified in their respective disciplines.
The company has attained accreditation in the management systems ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 which ensures a quality service is delivered to our customers.
The company also actively engages in a robust health and safety training programme for all employees and is accredited with both CHAS and Safecontractor schemes. The company has recently won the prestigious British Safety Council International Safety Award.
